Happy New Years!! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and great New Years. Wow, it's 2009. Shawn, Noah and I have been in Iowa almost one year. We moved here on February 5th of last year. Where does the time go.
We are moving into the final weeks of finishing Mallory. Things are really coming to a close. I can not wait to move. This has definitely been a life change for the family. We moved from our own home with a fenced in back yard, our own washer and dryer and one of my most missed appliances is the dish washer. I don't think that I have ever done so many dishes by hand in my life. I have been very spoiled and always had a dish washer.
But it's the little things that I can not wait to get back. Shawn and I have been sleeping on the floor with our box springs and mattress for almost a year. I can not wait to get into the new house and have both of our dressers (and not have to share) and have our bed frame back. I also am very excited to get our washer and dryer hooked up again. I do love laundry. But not when I am having to walk across the way carrying about 8 or 9 loads of laundry a week. Especially when it's negative something outside. Or the fact that we have been paying $2.50 a load. Man, that adds up quickly.
2008 has brought many changes and many trials to our family. Shawn got out of the navy in March of 08. What a frightening time that was for us. We moved from Virginia blind. Shawn's dad and Elizabeth had to do the apartment hunting for us. Shawn and I have done three navy moves since we have been together. But we always had an idea of what the area was like that we were moving.
We have been blessed beyond what we deserve.
Shawn is now working with his dad. He is making great money and is loving what he is doing. That is awesome. It's always good to like what you do for a living!! Ha Ha. But really, no joke there are too many people that don't like what they do for a living.
Noah is doing really well in school. Our new house is in a new school district, but Noah will be able to stay at the same school. Because Noah is special needs, we are able to apply for a waiver. And if I am understanding correctly we will even still get transportation for him. That is awesome.
As for me I am considering going back to school. I still have 3 years left on my GI bill from the navy. I can't see letting those years of school go to a waste. I am still weighing my options of what I would like to do.
As in previous post I am going to try and get some pictures posted.
Have a wonderful 2009.
